I downloaded this client called Semagic awhile ago that lets me write LJ entries on my puter, and post them later when I have an internet connection.

There's really so much floating around in my head right now, you have no idea. Maybe I should make it a habit of writing a little in my LJ every day on the train.

Ok, almost every lolita on my flist is talking about Lolita valentines.

IT'S AUGUST.

OH. MY. GOD. I have to take pictures of this town for all you city folk. The thought of doing so is just amusing.

There's a lake in the backyard, and it's so pretty. All the neighbors know each other and it's a really nice community. One of the neighbors just got a hot tub and we went to see it yesterday. I WANT ONE.

I told Ken we should save our money and have the wedding in my parents' backyard, I mean that sounds like a stupid idea if you live in the suburbs, with your little blocky backyard identical to everyone else's, but in the country?? Not so bad. My aunt had her wedding at her in-laws' house several years ago, only I think they lived somewhere expensive and trendy...still just as pretty, I mean.

The downtown area is like...wow. I'm at the library right now. There's a butcher, library, post office, hair salon, and like 4 other buildings, seriously. It's not like the south or anything, I mean Batavia and Geneva are relatively nearby, so it's a trendy-looking little town.

After I return home from the library, I have this AMAZING BOOK that I have to share with the lolies. Oh my freaking god. I get the feeling that pierrotseven in particular might go as ballistic as me about this book?! It is The Handbook of Natural Beauty Practical Ways and Homemade Preparations to Bring Out Your Natural Beauty. I was skimming through a part that told you how to give yourself a facial with strawberries. SRSLY.

Work is going ok. I think they decided to hire a second designer. Like, someone who would work with me.

I bought another adapter for my laptop because I freaking wanted to use it. So it works now. And it has good ol' CS3 on it, so I can actually do work on it. (Still pissed that CS4 came out right after I got CS3.)

Ken and I went to Lincoln Park Zoo on Saturday. We thought about visiting other people but by the time we left the zoo, we were tired and famished D:

Moving seems to have been a really good idea. It's not my ideal situation, but I notice I'm a lot less crabby on a daily basis.

Besides all that, I don't really have internet, not only because we have dial up, but also because someone else is always on the computer :/ I got lucky tonight I guess. I'd like to blog a LOT more on Gothloli Grimoire.... I just need to find out where the WiFi hot spots are here in Farmtown. I figure I have to go to Huntley (the next town over with a population more than 1) in the event that there is no WiFi out here.

Oh man...and I want to go on chigothloli more too. I think I missed a crafternoon earlier this month. That I said I would go to. Oh wells O_o;;;

I almost forgot about Poupee Girl, since I just joined! Strange how I can get so addicted and then totally forget. This weekend I'm making a point of taking snapshots of some of my cute clothes, mwahaha.

Well, there will be good things and bad things about moving.
Good things = waking up without aching from allergies! Woo!!
Bad things = childhood flashback, and no Ken ;_;

As it turns out, my parents are also in the market for a new car. So my mom suggested I take their old car FOR FREE so that they can go buy a brand new car, since they can afford anything they want (within reason) and my budget is very limited. But you know, I wish they had MENTIONED THIS before I started going nuts shopping for cars a month ago.

My problem is not really solved. I have to learn how to drive stick shift ;__; With my poor bad drawing hand. I hope it doesn't distress it too much! I'm hoping this will at least last me until I can buy a Honda Fit, which I totally fell in love with and need to own someday.

Also!! I got a pretty skirt!! I bought a Black Peace Now skirt secondhand FOR 40 BUCKS. YES. I love how used gothic lolita is cheaper than used sweet lolita!! There's less of a demand, or something!

I wanted to make a strawberry sundress for the Strawberry Festival this saturday, but if I don't finish it (LOL) I'm going to use my new skirt as a backup.

Man, I've always wanted pretty clothes, but now that I can actually afford them...BRANDLUST. BRRAAAAAAAANDLUUUUUUST.

I already know where my next purchase is coming from...but it's a secret!!

Oh, although...Hot Topic is actually starting to get some cute Harajuku-inspired stuff in. The gothic lolita stuff doesn't look as wannabe-ish as it used to...not great, but there's definitely improvement!

I CAN'T SEEM TO FIND THE BALANCE BETWEEN DOING NON-INTERNET STUFF AND BEING ON THE INTERNET. I spend all day doing activities related to either one or the other.

IRONY: I'm supposed to be moving out of this darn house so I can stop going to work all depressed, yet I haven't been able to sort out any moving plans because I work so freaking much.

That is a really crappy pic of the Aveo. In person it's really such a cute round thing with a button nose!!

I'd rather have one of these guys brand new than some crappy used car, but my parents are now pushing me to get used. They're only interested if it's cheap enough to pay off as soon as it's purchased. I'd really like to have a car that doesn't need repairs after 2 months.


Now there are noises upstairs, but no one is supposed to be home...robbers? Or worse...MICE.

I also wanted to talk about a possible new haircut, but now I'm not in the mood -_-;;

I also need to decide what monstrosity I'm going to wear tomorrow. For loli day.

EDIT: I ACTUALLY managed to put together a decent outfit, and everybody left before we got there. SUXXORZ.

Well I have been unusually absent from LJ recently, so I'll try to post a little bit more. :D

I don't know what to wear on Loli Day. Every year I say I'll do it and something always comes up. Now there is actually a loli event on Loli Day and I don't know what to wear, because a bunch of people I don't know are going!! I can't just not wear something lolita related. I guess I could TRY to do Ouji again? Methinks that would be a bit warm. Would it be better to wear a cumbersome Aristocrat gown, though?? *sigh*

Also, I'm moving pretty soon!! I don't know if it's more exciting or scary. I'm winning a little and losing a little too, but all of my options were that way, and I tried to choose the best one. So far in life it seems that no matter how hard I work or how optimistic I view everything, in the end I get little to no reward, and even punished for my efforts. It's really defeating and to say the least RETARDED. I hope it doesn't follow me in my moving decision.

Anyway, I can't move until I buy a car, and I'm leaning toward the Honda Fit. It's so cute in person, and it's nice inside, and the back is so roomy! It was already my top choice after doing internet research, but I started to melt all over it when I saw it. I think I've narrowed down my choices to that, the Toyota Yaris, or some Hyundai (because they're cheap). The Chevy Aveo is also cute, but iirc it had crappy safety ratings?

What are your thoughts on those cars? :D

Yesterday it was nice to get back into the city again, even though we didn't stick around for that long. Man! I guess after going there every day for several years (school) it was starting to lose its glamor, and after staying away for awhile it got beautiful again. I was reminded why public transportation is so awesome, though.

And some people told me they missed Ken and I because we never go to meetups anymore ;_________; so happy....

I need more clothes, though...I hate wearing the same outfits all the time, or maybe I just lost my creativity. everyday_vk occasionally has sales posts with goth/punk lolita clothes, which is awesome because finding any BPN or related brands in the egl sales community is a big fat LOL. And somehow THEY'RE CHEAPER THAN SWEET BRAND RESALES. By a LOT. Works for me!

A basement spider was crawling down my body, no idea how he got on my head. I hope he didn't BITE me because I will have an ugly puffy life-threatening spot for a bajillion years. I already have enough crap to see the doctor for, seriously.

Anyway...for awhile I have thought of the idea of having a traveling panel besides just getting artist alley tables at every con. I would need someone to sit in for me at my table but...maybe it wouldn't be too hard to find someone. Hey if I'm lucky maybe Ken would actually want to travel to cons and sit in for me.

I was thinking about the Acen fashion show (unfortunately I didn't get to see it this year, but I heard they called it THE FIRST FASHION SHOW, wtf). I was thinking of all the ideas I have for it and things I'd like to see done, and then I remembered OH YEAH I WANTED TO RUN IT BEFORE I KNEW IT WAS TAKEN! *sigh* I wonder if I could help out, but I feel like I will want to take over the lead and we will argue immensely about everything. Maybe it would be ok, though...after all, the reason I hesitated was because I didn't want to do it alone. Maybe there's a lot more to it than I realize and we could take over different parts.

WHAT. SERIOUSLY now.

Because I couldn't make up my mind based on facts or even my own friggin feelings, I've been trying to get aid from my tarot cards, horoscope, and the i-ching thing on ifate.com.

i-ching kept telling me every single time not to make a move, just to stay where I am and wait out all the bad stuff. Then I thought, you know, that's what Eastern philosophy is like, that's what Ayn Rand hated about it so much. It's never going to tell me to stand up for myself or up and leave a situation, or anything.

So, I decided to ignore all those fortunes it gave me, and now I have finally decided to move back to my parents' house. Actually, I asked it WHY DO I HAVE TO FREAKING STAY HERE SO BAD, and it hinted back that I need to wait until someone moves out or leaves.

Today, I got a fortune that said to pay attention to the small things in life, and suggested that I have missed a small detail that the future could suffer from. It had some changing lines, and my future fortune is "stillness" or staying put when everything else is moving. As if to say, NO, SERIOUSLY, DON'T MOVE OUT YET.

I don't know what to do, I mean, it's not even like they're some blessed i-ching coins passed on down the centuries and proven to work--IT'S THE FREAKING INTERNET. Just, these fortunes were always so close to truth when I first started doing them. *sigh*

In other news, just to get it off my chest, today at work = TOTAL CRAP. Every little thing that could possibly go wrong happened--from the printer not printing when I told it to, to the entire file system on the computers getting screwed up, to the one and only Mac totally not working!!

I think I can fix the Mac, but I'm shocked that they don't have a technician to call on when this crap happens, considering how vital the computers are to our business. If I'm unable to recover the files off of it, not only will that royally suck, but I'm totally going to get yelled at for it, because everyone assumed I knew how to burn discs on the Mac and that I was backing them up every month. Or that I even knew I was supposed to do that.

At random, I decided to look up the compatibility between Taurus and Sagittarius. I've always thought this was pretty silly, even though I do believe in sun signs in general O_o

Well, I was surprised! Most places said pretty much the same things. Some were more insightful than others, but all of them basically said, "You guys totally have the hots for each other, but holy hell, if you're even thinking about having a long-term relationship you'd better sort out your fundamental differences!!!"

Of course, some of them said some TOTALLY UNTRUE things, like "Sagittarius is always on the move and likes to take risks, but Taurus prefers to plan ahead and enjoys the security of the home" LLLLOOOOOOOOOLLLLLL. The opposite I'd say.

On the other hand! Once they took away the basic Sag/Taurus stereotypes, and focused on the elements that rule each sign (Fixed Earth vs. Mutable Fire), suddenly things made so much sense! The gist of them was, "Taurus values tradition and loyalty, while Sagittarius values individuality and freedom. Sagittairus speaks bluntly, and this can shock and offend Taurus (or make him angry, probably!). Taurus needs to feel loved and important in a relationship, whereas Sag has a more laid-back, live and let live outlook on love. Taurus can seem stubborn and controlling, and Sagittarius refuses to be controlled. However, mutable Sagittarius will probably end up doing most of the compromising if the relationship is going to last." Great! *groan*

There was also, "Sag feels at home with Taurus, and Taurus finds Sag's individuality fun and exciting."

On committment, one of them said, "If Taurus is hesitant to commit, it's because he wants to make sure that he is making the right decision for a stable life. If Sagittairus is hesitant to commit, it's because she is afraid it will mean sacrificing her freedom."

They aren't INcompatible, so most sites say that as long as the two work hard at the relationship and understand each other's differences, it will last. But not without arguments! (That's strange, Ken and I argued more in the beginning than we ever do now. Maybe that phase is over!?)
